Films and Documentaries

Patruni also contributed to films and documentaries

In Transit

Patruni Chidananda Sastry is featured in the powerful Amazon Prime Video documentary series In Transit, produced by Tiger Baby (Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti) and directed by Ayesha Sood. The four-part series showcases the lives of nine transgender and non-binary individuals from across India, exploring their journeys through love, fear, hope, and dreams.

Representing the intersection of bisexuality, non-binary identity, and drag artistry, Patruni brings a deeply personal narrative to the screen—one that challenges conventional portrayals of queer lives. Through their vibrant performances, intimate moments of family life, and candid reflections, Patruni’s story becomes a testament to queer joy, resistance, and everyday magic.

Unlike the trauma-focused lens often used in media, In Transit centers on authenticity and agency—making space for the beauty and complexity of trans and non-binary existence. Patruni’s presence in the series highlights how drag can be both an art form and a mode of activism, and how parenthood and performance can coexist within queer identities.

Watch In Transit now on Amazon Prime Video and witness a rare and radical portrait of queer life in India.
