Human Rights Activist

Patruni is a queer activist, drag artist, and performer who uses art as a tool for social change. Through dance, drag, and storytelling, they challenge gender norms, advocate for LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and create spaces for dialogue around identity, acceptance, and equality

Patruni is an interdisciplinary artist and activist whose work sits at the intersection of performance, identity, and social justice. As a gender-fluid drag performer and classical dancer, they have consistently used their body and art as a site of resistance—questioning rigid binaries and reimagining what visibility and representation can look like in contemporary India.

Their activism extends beyond the stage. Patruni has been deeply involved in creating conversations around gender sensitization, queer parenting, and inclusive workplaces. From corporate trainings and public talks to grassroots performances and community festivals, their work bridges institutional spaces and lived realities. They have organized and participated in Pride initiatives, queer dance festivals, and educational sessions that foreground the importance of empathy, policy change, and cultural understanding.

A strong advocate for inclusive education, Patruni actively speaks about the need for sex education and gender awareness in schools, urging institutions and parents alike to rethink how young people are taught about identity and difference. Their presence in media and public discourse has also highlighted the challenges faced by queer individuals and families, making their activism both personal and political.

What makes Patruni’s activism distinctive is its performative nature—whether through drag, theatre, or dance, they transform storytelling into a powerful tool for disruption and healing. For them, activism is not limited to protest; it is also about joy, visibility, and reclaiming space with unapologetic authenticity.
